Kirsten Aspengren, EPIC’s Senior Director, was the keynote speaker at the PASS College and Career Summit held at Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, IL. PASS (Partnership Advocating Student Success) is an initiative to create partnerships between Sauk Valley Community College and area high schools, vocational centers, institutions offering adult education, regional offices of education, and community members who are all working to see the students of the area be successful in college and career.
In his welcoming message, President David Hellmich of Sauk Valley Community College emphasized the importance of curriculum alignment for the PASS effort, which was a nice lead-in to the message of Kirsten’s presentation. Her copresenter, Chris Kuberski, the former VP of Instruction at Rend Lake and current Executive Vice President at Highland Community College, shared her real-world experience with EPIC’s curriculum alignment services as a testament to the value of partnerships and the importance of buy-in.
