Square Peg Round Hole | Apollo 13

When astronauts have a CO2 filter problem, NASA engineers are asked to figure out “how to put a square peg in a round hole.” The team immediately begins to problem-solve.

Questions:

  • Have you ever felt like you were being asked to fit a square peg into a round hole? How did your attitude and response compare to those of the team of engineers?
  • How much time did these characters spend complaining about the problem before they began to try to fix it? How does your school react to pressing needs? Why?
  • Does your school work as a team to solve problems?
  • Who are the various team members in this video? Why is a team important?
