EPIC is collaborated with Pivot Learning Partners to examine existing resources and develop new resources that support Common Core State Standard implementation in several Pivot district networks and ensure integration with the Hewlett Foundation’s Deeper Learning skills. These skills go beyond those required to master academic content knowledge, and include critical thinking and problem solving, collaboration, effective communication, and having both the skills to direct learning and the mindsets that foster learning. Overarching aims of this work include building awareness of the practical implications of providing Deeper Learning-aligned professional development for educators. EPIC and Pivot developed a library of resources to enhance districts’ capacity to address specific problems of practice and resources to support implementation of Common Core State Standards integrated with Deeper Learning in broader contexts.
